Bee-lieve in Reading Foundation

Because every child deserves the power to read, dream, and thrive.

The Bee-lieve in Reading Foundation was created by Sugar Bees Academy to ensure that no child is left behind because of financial barriers.

Through our community-funded programs, we provide free and low-cost reading support for children who struggle to read at grade level.

Our Mission

To create equal access to literacy by offering structured, research-based reading programs for children from Kindergarten to Grade 9.

Every program is built on our belief that reading is not just an academic skill — it’s a gateway to confidence, opportunity, and lifelong learning.

What We Do

  • Free Community Reading Clinics: Small-group and one-on-one literacy sessions for children who need extra support.
  • School and Community Partnerships: We work with local schools and organizations to reach students most in need.
  • Volunteer-Led Literacy Pods: Powered by teacher candidates, trained volunteers, and certified educators.
  • Family Support: Parents receive strategies and reports to reinforce reading progress at home.

Why it Matters

1 in 4 children in Canada struggles with reading. Many never receive the intervention they need because of limited access or cost.

Your support helps us close that gap — providing children with the tools, confidence, and community they need to succeed.

How You Can Help

  • Volunteer Your Time – Support reading pods, mentor students, or assist with community literacy events.
  • Donate or Sponsor a Child – Every contribution directly funds free tutoring for families in need.
  • Partner With Us – Schools, libraries, and community groups can collaborate to host local reading clinics.

Every Program You Support Makes an Impact

Each paid session at Sugar Bees Academy helps fund free literacy programs for children in need through the Bee-lieve in Reading Foundation.

Together, we’re building a world where every child can believe in their ability to read — and in themselves.
