Welcome to the Reading Bee Challenge Hub 🐝
We’re so glad you’re here! This is your cozy corner for the 7-Day Reading Bee Challenge—a simple, encouraging way to help your child build stronger reading habits and confidence one small step at a time.
Each day, you’ll find a quick activity, a gentle tip, and a reminder that progress matters far more than perfection. There’s no pressure to keep up perfectly… just come back, read together, and enjoy the moments you’re creating.
To get started, download your Reading Log below. This will help you track your child’s reading each day and celebrate how far they’ve come by the end of the week.
How It Works
-
Step 1: Sign up
-
Step 2: Get Reading Log
-
Step 3: Start challenge (10–15 min/day)
-
Step 4: Celebrate + certificate + optional next step
Day 1: Start Strong
Focus: Begin with something simple and enjoyable.
Activity: Read together for 10–15 minutes. Let your child choose any book — interest matters more than difficulty right now.
Encouragement Tip: Celebrate the fact that you started. A high-five or “I love reading with you” builds early momentum.
Day 2: Confidence Over Perfection
Focus: Encourage effort, not flawless reading.
Activity: Read for 10–15 minutes. When your child gets stuck, praise the attempt and sound the word out together.
Encouragement Tip: One kind comment can shape how your child feels about reading. Keep the tone warm and relaxed.
Day 3: Make It Fun
Focus: Add playfulness to keep motivation high.
Activity: Try the “Switch Voices” game — read aloud using silly voices for different characters. Laugh and enjoy the moment.
Encouragement Tip: When reading feels fun, kids naturally want to do more of it. Joy fuels consistency.
Day 4: Build Understanding
Activity: After reading, ask one simple question like:
- “What was your favorite part?”
- “What do you think the character felt?”
Encouragement Tip: If your child struggles to answer, model your own response. Conversations make stories come alive.
Day 5: Keep the Streak Alive
Focus: Support comprehension without making it feel like a quiz.
Activity: After reading, ask one simple question like:
- “What was your favorite part?”
- “What do you think the character felt?”
Encouragement Tip: If your child struggles to answer, model your own response. Conversations make stories come alive.
Day 6: You’re Still In
Focus: Reset without guilt if you missed a day.
Activity: Read for 5–15 minutes. If you skipped a day (or more), simply say, “We’re jumping back in today,” and continue.
Encouragement Tip: Coming back after a break teaches persistence — a skill more important than perfection.
Day 7: Celebrate + Certificate
Focus: Recognize your effort and finish strong.
Activity: Read one more time today, then mark your final log entry. Download your child’s Reading Bee Champion Certificate and celebrate together!
Encouragement Tip: Make this moment special — pride today builds reading confidence tomorrow.
